What/How/Why (picture)
New Mossberg (first one) 500 Blackwater 12guage, 18.5'
Shot perfect (though slugs kick your…..hand. No fowl ups, accurate to point of aim. Roughly two (2) dozen various rounds and inches put through just fine. Upon cleaning and inspection I noticed this toward the end of the barrel. It appears to be medal fouling of some sort. Sticks up, cant be brushed or pulled out. Jagged. What is it? How did it happen? Will it be an issue? Let me know if the pic works for you guys, for some reason mine show up for a period of time then stop working.

Where is it in relation to the front bead? Underneath it? Looks like plastic fouling on my phone.
What brand and type of slugs? |

Was able to get my finger in there and reach it. Not sharp, but feels almost imbedded. Placement (directly under front site) is throwing me.
Bore brushing did nothing to remove it.

How about back out your sight and see if the protrusion disappears?

Red, I am no gunsmith, but I assumed the front/top sight would not be drilled all the way through the actual barrel itself?
Geh, This is my first Mossy, Impressed thus far, but not liking this barrel for being fresh out the box.

The rantingredneck says the hole is bored through into the barrel. I think I read that elsewhere, too. |

BRENT,
Round abouts $375.00 OTD Lee, That seems to be the consensus and it makes sense given the proximity. I will try backing it out to see, I guess.

wow, that is lazy.
Most shotgun sights are installed all the way through the barrel, but then they file it flush. |
