Remington 270 express
For only $299 it seems a little cheap, but is it a quality shotgun? The fact that it has a 7 shot capacity and intimidating as hell look for that price make it very appealing for home defense.

Yes it's a quality gun.
The only real difference in QUALITY between the Express and more expensive Wingmaster and Police guns, is the Express isn't as well polished internally, and has a rougher black finish externally. The Express is simply a way for Remington to lower prices on their guns to compete with the cheaper guns made by Mossberg and Winchester. The way they did that is by saving money on the blue job, the plastic trigger guard, and the finishing of the internals. Other than that, it's built the same way as the more expensive guns. There are differences in the materials used, and the features of the different guns, but the Express will last you as well as any other Remington. Which is to say, the rest of your life. |

Sajix, if cared for, an 870 is capable of feeding and protecting your family for generations. Use- life runs into 100Ks of shells, some have been fired over 250K shells and still function.
I've used 870s since Ike was Prez, and my experience is that the shooter will wear out much faster than an 870 will. Mine the Archives, there's a plethora of info there on these. HTH. |
