Anyone use any of the ballistic programs now available? All I've seen are kind of pricey and I haven't heard any reviews of them. I have a couple, both are Dos based so you know they've been around for a while. After I got my new PC I had to get rid of the first one I had, it ran on Basic A. Now thats old! Any info would be appreciated. Melvin

I use QuickLoad ($150) and they have a demo program at this site: http://www.neconos.com/details3.htm it is complex, but worth every penny.
There is a lesser cost program at this site: http://www.loadammo.com/ but I passed it by because I wanted a program that estimated PSI. |

High and Low end programs
I have the Sierra #4 on CD Rom. [High/HOT loads].
I have the Hornady #1 [Conservatice---they don't like Unique]. Both are good reference manuals. I have older book manuals that, I know NOT TO USE. |

http://www.snipercountry.com has a butt-load of ballistic software downloads.
One of them is a Windows-based program. I haven't made the time yet to read all of the documentation, but it seems ok, and it's a free download. One of the downsides to the freeware is that most of these programs don't offer pulldown menus for common bullets (by manufacturer) or for powders. |
