What Glock do you carry concealed?
What Glock do you carry and why did you choose Glock?
I have Glocks, Colts, SIG's, Hk's, Smith and Wessons, and Brownings. I love them all equally. The gun enthusiast in me loves the 1911's for the range and SIG and Glock for duty. I'm somewhat of a collector. But the self defense in me and muscle memory of my training sticks with mainly Glocks and SIG Sauer. I carry a Glock 19 with 1 or 2 spare mags. Loaded with Corbon DPX or Speer Gold Dots. At 4:00 IWB in a De Santis intruder holster. I keep my Glocks (and SIG's) factory with an exception of night sights. I usually always keep my CCW guns factory. I'm running Trijicon HD's on my Glock 19. I carry a Glock 19 because it's a mid sized 9mm, that fits in my daily activities perfectly and doesn't feel like I'm carrying because it's so light. With 16 rounds plus how ever many extra mags I'm carrying. I don't ever feel under gunned. I train with my Glock 19 a lot and it's easy to manipulate. My muscle memory is tuned to no external safety of any kind. I'm accurate with it under stress and at the range having fun. I trust my life to it. I'm asking about Glock because while they're a lot of bashers, they're also a lot of people who respect them as what they are. Tools that work just like any other. So it'll be cool to get a thread going on what model Glock people carry and why. It'd also be cool if people didn't jump in to say anything negative. Just pass over this thread and roll your eyes or something. Or PM me telling me I stink. I don't know..I just don't want this thread locked down. Pics would be nice too. I'll post some in a second from my phone. What Glock do you carry? Last edited by JohnKSa; April 8, 2013 at 11:09 PM. Reason: . |

When I carried a Glock it was a 19. As you mentioned, almost perfect combination of size, weight, capacity.
I've adopted an M&P 9c for myself these days though. I find it roughly comparable to a Glock 26 with the flat floorplates on the 9c. I used to never see a point in the sub-compacts as I always carried a compact. But I find for how I dress and the fact that I'm in a car so often the subcompact is just that much more comfortable and I can shoot them just as well. I may not carry Glocks anymore, but I still respect what they offer and the age of shooting they helped usher in.

M&P is another amazing firearm. I have (as you know) just traded into one recently. Love it. The full sized 9mm. I'm having an urge to make it a race gun and buy another. Maybe even a pro series.
I saw your thread of the M&Pc you bought. Nice, nice, nice! |

Re: What Glock do you carry concealed?
I carry a Glock 23 (same size of the 19) but my Glock 27 is far more comfortable.

I carry a customized Glock 31C in cooler months and a customized Glock 27(33) in warmer months.
They are tools to me. I chose Glocks over the H&K's that I used to carry due to size, capacity, price and after market.

Glock 19 at around 3:30 in a hybrid style IWB holster. Very comfortable. Very concealable. Those who think you can't conceal a gun larger than an LCP aren't trying very hard.

I am a plain-clothed LEO and carry a G23, off duty I have my own G23 but I usually carry my PF9 (Kel-Tec).

Glock 23.
I chose Glock because the 19/23 frame is perfect for IWB -OR- OWB carry, for me. I can't comfortably carry a larger frame IWB, but the 19/23 works great. Glocks are also incredibly convenient to own. It's really that simple, for me. I'm not a Glock fanboy. If anything, I'm a Walther (PPQ and P99) fanboy, at heart. I don't think that Glocks are the only reliable firearm out there, or that they are inherently superior to P99s, PPQs, M&Ps, XDs, etc. I think they're one of multiple great options. Among those multiple options, they just happen to be the most perfectly sized, and most convenient, in my opinion. When I need something smaller, I go to a Ruger SR9c. The 23 is almost always what I have on me, though.

What Glock do you carry concealed?
Gen 4 G27 with Ameriglo tritium sights with orange on front sight as well. I like it because it is so small it never prints and yet has 10 rds of .40. Carry one extra 15 rd mag. Also the Glocks are very comfortable with all rounded edges and nothing to snag on clothing, super reliable and I never worry about it getting wet or sweated on. It has been through a lot of water and sweat and cleans up fine.
I actually shoot the Gen4 G27 with large backstrap better than my Gen3 G23 or Gen2 G22. |

What Glock do you carry concealed?
I like this thread bc Im pretty sure I want to switch from what I use today. I have a Gen 3 G27 with crimson trace laser guard and trijicon night sights ( and 2 different IWB holsters). I like it, but I'm far less accurate with it than I am with my G22. The G23 also fits my hands really well. Plus, I can't consistently/ quickly get a good grip on the 27, drawing quickly from my IWB holster, and the recoil would be easier to deal with, if i had a G23. I think a gen 3 or 4 G23 with night sights would fit me better, but with the prices the way they are today, I haven't been able to pull the trigger on a good swap yet.

A Glock 32 in a Fobus. The capacity is good, and the transition from a P239 was seamless. I shoot both equally well. It saves carrying all those extra magazines.

My EDC is a G26. I chose 9 mm because of the price of practice ammo, its ready availability (in normal times), and the accuracy and speed of followup shots in my hands. I chose Glock because it is reliable, durable, and accurate, and I knew I wouldn't care if it started to show holster wear or got scuffed up. I am one of those who appreciates the simplicity of its action, too. The G26 wound up getting the nod because I am not very big and I thought concealment would be easier than the G19, and a 10-round mag with a backup in my pocket is, I hope, adequate. (It is only realistic, in my opinion, to recognize that there is a choice to be made between capacity and concealability, and the G26 seemed like a reasonable compromise point.)

I carry the Glock 27 frequently along with other pistol
I carry the Glock 27 frequently along with other pistols depending on where I am going and how I will be dressed. I also have available a mouse gun that fits nicely in my back pocket. I feel more secure with the 40 caliber over the .380 mouse. I have carried a compact 45acp that is close in size of the G27. I do have extreme confidence in my Glock though.

Glock 27 Gen 4
I ccw a G27 Gen 4 with speer gold dots or winchester pdx. Ocasionally I will go with hornaday tap. I chose this because I wanted the most reliable semiautomatic handgun that I could conceal well. I chose the 27 because I could do .357 sig and 9mm conversions. I keep the G23 for a house gun so the two share mags and ammo. I have TFO night sights and often Iwb in a remora. I also have a blackhawk and crossbreed owb.
The two glocks I own are the only two that have never FT anythinged for me period. I have no BTF, no complaints, and pleanty of trigger time with both. I am not a basher and I am sure other manufactures make very fine specimins of a number of different guns. This is simply what works for me. Regards, Vermonter |

What Glock do you carry concealed?
I was going to the gun range every week or two up until the ammo started disappearing. I have the talon grips, and the pierce pinky extensions. I'd like to shoot a 23 to compare the recoil/controlability on the 23 vs the 27. The 27 is still hard to get a good grip on when I draw quickly from the holster. I practice with it unloaded sometimes, but i still think a 23 would be easier.

Re: What Glock do you carry concealed?
23 is easier no doubt but the baby Glocks will shoot like their big brothers with practice.
