$200 for a name??

In the new Cabela's master catalog, the Cabela's brand Traditional Hawken Rifles look identical in almost every detail to the T/C Hawkin rifles on the next page but the Cabelas brand are $200 cheaper. What gives?

Probably made in Spain but I would need someone to confirm it. Spanish blackpowder guns can be quite good as can be seen in some CVA products.

If I had space, I'd be tempted myself or for that .32 cal rifle Cabelas sells. It would be nice to make it into a child's gun by shortening the barrel and shortening the length of pull. Add a patchbox and voila!

IIRC, Cabelas Hawkin is made by Investarms of Italy, the same company that makes the Lyman Great Plains Rifle. High quality stuff.

With TC, you are paying for a name, made in USA, and a lifetime warranty.
