Mech Tech vs Just Right carbine ?s

I am seriously considering the purchase of either a Mech Tech carbine or a Just Right carbine for local 3 gun. We shoot 8" x 1/2" steel plates at 75 - 100 yards. Most members shoot ARs but there are a few High Points and other odds and ends that show up. I just don't see an AR in my immediate future and since I have lots of .40 Glock mags on hand and reloading supplies that tips the scales in favor of a carbine for these games, for me.

Have any of you any input to share on either or both of these carbines? I have watched several YouTube videos and have yet to find any reliability issues with the Mech Tech but have seen a couple FTF and FTE on the Just Right, though these could have been older models?

The JRC's look good. I wouldn't get the takedown model though if you're doing any relatively serious competition.

What is the take down model? Please explain.

Just Right makes a version of their carbines in a takedown model, I.E. the barrel and hand guard unscrew from the receiver and you need a tool to get them back on the right way, but hand tight works. Just not as accurate as the regular model.

Another option would be a Marlin Camp-9 with a bullpup or folding stock

I saw a gunsmith video about the JRC. He pointed out a few engineering 'flaws' that would cut longetivity. Frankly I would just go with a MechTech or even a CX4 if you want to stick with a PCC.

I used my CX4 in an informal carbine match and did better than most with AR's due to the lower muzzle blast and larger hole in the target. Many people asked if I was shooting a .22.

I picked up a JRC in 9mm that uses S&W M&P mags and absolutely love it. I've put about 500 rounds through it with absolutely no problems. Accuracy wise at 25 yds shooting off hand putting all 17 rounds in the mag in a sub 2" circle is easy, which says a lot for me. As far as quality, this thing is built like a tank and I feel it's one of the best gun purchases I've made in a while. For a sight I'm using a Vortex Strike Fire, which works great for my old eyes. I'm very anxious for spring and outdoor shooting to see how it shoots out to 100 yds.
