Ak-47 Drum Magazine Problem

Need some help here, picked up a Chinese Ak drum and I am having trouble getting it to work.

I understand the workings of the mag and how to load it, my only problem is that the tension I create by twisting the key to the mag is not being transferred to the feeding cog.

The spring hold tension, but no longer how much tension is on the spring, the wheel can be moved causing no tension on the rounds so the rounds cant feed.

Try starting over, and follow these instructions

I've seen a LOT of these magazines, and most of them work quite well

you have to completely release all the tension and unwind it BEFORE you start loading it.
