Weatherby model accuracy
Would this be as accurate as the mark V accumark? Is one properly bedded and freefloating while the light is just light?

I have a stainless MK V in 257WBYMAG a buddy of mine has an Ultra Lightweight. My rifle shoots between .62"-1.25" with different factory ammunition. The most accurate being the 117gr soft point (seriously). My buddies gun is lucky if it turns in 1.5" groups. Neither gun has had any modifications other than both triggers have been done; mine 3lbs and his 3.5lbs.
This is all the experience I have with the Ultra Lightweight rifles. You always see a lot of them on the secondhand market. Not sure why that is. I have never liked light long barrels in magnum cartridges. Join http://www.weatherbynation.com/ and ask around on there. You will get tons of feedback, maybe not all useful but you can decide for yourself what is and isnt. All Weatherby rifles have a pressure bedding point in the forend. |

I have others but these are my 2 favorite Weatherby rifles. The 257 wears a Swarovski 3-10x42 and the 224 wears a Leupold 4-12x40.
