BUIS for Bushy ORC
I have just purchased a Bushmaster ORC --
http://www.bushmaster.com/catalog_xm...VMF16M4ORC.asp There are a plethora of choices for scopes, red dot sights, etc, etc, but have not been able to find much at all in the way of options for a front iron sight. In fact, the Only one I have been able to find is the one mentioned on their site: http://www.bushmaster.com/products.a...ht=YHM%2D9360K Is this really my only option for a front sight? Or are there better options out there? Thanks very much in advance for any advice or options anyone can help me out with. -d |

I will have to admit to near-boundless ignorance on this subject -- please bear with me...the front sights at the Troy site, as most others, mount to a picatinny or weaver rail system. My rifle has no rail above the gas block, where it seems every AR front sight I have ever seen has been mounted. If I change the handguards out for a set with a rail system on top, can I mount my front sight on the front of the handguard rail just behind the gas block, and just adjust to compensate? Or would this change the sight picture to the point where I could not adjust to correct for the difference in front sight location?
Again, thanks. -d |

You could do something like this
http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=sho...product_id=562 Or switch out the gasblock http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=sho...product_id=807 http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...icial%26sa%3DN Or put a standard front sight base |
