Will an Ultra-Dot sight...
....hold up under heavy recoil like a handgun scope?
I just aquired a Ruger Super Redhawk .44Mag., and I was thinking about putting an Ultra-Dot (red dot) sight that I have on it. I have used it on my GP-100 .357, but I plan on shooting some pretty hefty loads with this 9.5" bbl. cannon. The question is, will the Ultra-Dot hold up under heavy recoil, or do I need to drop some big bucks on a leupold 2X or similar scope? Anybody have any experience with this set up? Thanks, DS

I have a holographic (RED DOT) scope on my Ruger 40 Carbine. It is holding up well.

Ultra Dot have a great rep and are widely used. I have an Ultra Dot L/T on a .45 and so far so good. Very nice little sight.

I've read posts by folks who use them on a .500 mag. And they come with a lifetime warranty and fast service if for some reason one does break.
