Handi-Rifle ejector issue??
just purchased a used Handi-Rifle 22-250, but the shell ejects only to the rim when action is opened. This gives just enough room to remove by hand. Isn't this supposed to throw the cases? Give me some input, my first single shot.
Thanks |

Ejector or extractor?Do you hear a "pop" when you open the action to remove the spent round?Does the extractor remove the spent round from the chamber?

The owners manual says ejector. But they also say spec's. can change at any time. Info from H & R web site, owners manual is down loadable.

In some break-open guns shotguns/rifles having a extractor is to he shooters advantage.
Having empty rifle cases thrown into the next county is no my idea of a good time. I have a Savage 219 single shot 30-30 and if I'm not careful it will throw that case 15-20 feet. Thats a case that is matched to the other 49 for that rifle. In a shotgun in the field hunting I don't care where the case go's as long as the chamber is free for the next shell. |
