accurate 9mm ammo
Most 9mm ammo and pistols are not that accurate.
The discontinued Federal Nyclad 9mm ammo was very accurate in a Browning HP. Is there other 9mm ammo currently available that is accurate? I'm talking slow fire single action revolver accurate. |

Biggest factor in my opinion, is who is shooting the gun. That
plays into the accuracy more than the ammo. JMHO SN |

What makes most 9mm pistols and ammo inaccurate?

I primarily shoot my reloads, and find my 9mm pistols to be
pretty accurate even without 20/20 vision. I currently have a Beretta 92FS and Beretta PX4 compact in 9mm, that are great guns. I actually don't see much difference between 9mm, .40SW, and .45ACP when it comes to accuracy, but that's just me. |

I find vary few loads that this gun won't shoot better then I can. The last test I did with mix head stamp brass, 4.0 grains of Bullseye, CCI SRP and Precision Delta 124g JHP made a nice quarter size group (32 rounds) at 7 yards.

Maybe you should define your idea of accuracy. That is very subjective. I hear these terms all the time. ie accurate, tack driver, ect.
A defensive handgun that can do 2.5-3" at 25yds, to me, is accurate. How about you? |

Practical vs.Target
I find the Browning HP altogether adequate in practical accuracy-I don't think it'd do well in a target competition.I use the HP for SD/HD and fun shooting and except for 147 gr it does great with any ammo-I have the MkIIIS and the Capitan models.

Strange but my Glock 17 shoots wolf ammo the best. I have shot much more expensive ammo and do not get better groups.

Practice, Practice, Practice will improve your skill any ammunition
Practice, Practice will improve your skill any ammunition Watch Hickock45 on YouTube and that guy as far as I am concerned is a fantastic shot. He can use a variety of different brands of ammunition, pick up almost any handgun and hit targets with it including 9mm. The guy does one thing that most of us do not do. He does practice a lot. I guess I could be a lot better if I shot that much. He also does a lot of long distance short barrel pistol shooting and hits the target. His YouTube sessions are quite entertaining. I enjoy watching the guy.
