I see some of you guys have some real Colts, you are lucky. I think I may get one some day but they seem a little expensive to me.

There are some beautiful guns, however I live in "cowboy" country. I know many working cowhands and it has been a hobby of mine to detail ACTUAL working guns. It seems that there is no normal handgun. When asked why they chose their particular handgun there was two common determining factors. Either the gun was a family hand me down or it was the cheapest gun they could find. A cowhand here makes very little money. The 22 lr chambering is very common because the guns are cheaper and the ammo is as well. I dont know any cowhands that give a hoot about any of their equipment except maybe their horse, saddle and dog. Of the 100 or so working guns I have handled, they look like they got drug through a knothole BACKWARDS. These guns have no bluing, grips broken and a few times the barrel was bent. These were just tools to them. The only thing of their I saw more abused was their pocketknives. I have never seen a cowhand with a fixed blade.

30-30, hehe. While I don't baby my guns, I try not to destroy them. I'm not rich so when I get a gun I want it to last. I too love all things .22lr because I can shoot all day long with little money spent. However I DO like my guns to have a little personalization. I'm still trying to decide between one in .45lc or in .22lr. I love the idea of being able to shoot a .22 all day long but I also love the idea of being able to defend myself with a .45, I think I will be getting a .45lc for a nightstand gun and later get a .22lr for fun shooting

Good eye! That is a nickle plated 2nd gen Colt 1860 Army.

That photo is 2nd and 3rd Gen colts with three High standard 51 navies on the bottom from their guns of the Confederacy series(brass frames).

I have a obsession with cap and ball revolvers, the Colts are about half of the collection, the rest are Italian replica's. I like the odd ball's like LeMat, Star, Dance Bros, Tucker & Sherrard, Rogers&spencer, Spiller&Burr. Remingtons too. A weak spot for shoulder stocked hand guns.

I have real guns too, cartridge guns that is.

Similar to old flat top ..little smaller than the New Model Blackhawk

Mine started out as a super blackhawk. I sent it to Mag-Na-Port for the Predator package but with a 4 inch barrel and the black front sight. Got the birdshead grip frame from Brownells and had them fit it up. They did a great job and it shoots like a champ.
