P-64 mag release spring.
So, I picked up my p-64 yesterday and I think im going to like this little gun. The DA trigger pull isn't nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be.
However what is worse then I expected is the mag release. I don't mind the heel release too much but the effort it takes to release it is rediculious IMHO. it could be half that and still hold the mag very securly. Has anyone else noticed this or done anyting about it? I've yet to remove the grips to try and see what kind of spring it uses or if its possible to cut down or replace...

Hmmm...
In my experience, even with the original hammer spring, the mag catch is fairly easy to manipulate. (Hammer spring is also mag catch spring) I'm wondering if there may be something interfering with the catch? |

Oh i see, I wasn't aware it was the same spring.
It doesn't seem to be "stuck" in any way...just seems like its much too strong of a spring. I wouldn't change the hammer spring based on trigger pull but if it will help the mag release its soemthing i would most likely replace.
