taurus pt940 +p rated?

title pretty much says it all. Ive got a pt940 made in 08. Is it safe to use with +P ammo?

99.9% of guns will run just fine with +P ammo in them. Practice with regular 9mm, put a few +P's through it to make sure it functions OK and then load it for carry or home defense. Just remember, when in doubt, don't feed it a steady diet of +P or + P+.

thanks for the info. also i should have said its a .40 not a 9mm. probably doesnt make a difference though, right?

I don't think there's anything that is actually an official +P .40. Are you looking at a site like Buffalo Bore? They have some they claim is low pressure/high velocity but they still give these warnings about case head support. You might ask someone at Taurus before using it, I guess. (Although I think that warning just applies to any .40 ammo.)
