Blue Dot in 9mm?

Anyone using Blue Dot in 9mm? If so how do you like it?

Be very careful! The minimum to max load is very small. I looked at this last week for my brother and went with W231- 5grs with Montana Gold 115gr JHP's. I think 5.1 grs was max load. CHECK YOUR BOOKS!!
I love the way W231 meters, always right on

I've been loading 7.7 grains of BD under 115 Berry plated. It's a compressed load and shoots OK. Not as accurate as I want but I can't seem to find better powders in stock at the moment.

I also use 7.7g of BD for a 115g JFP OAL of 1.125". Didn't think it was compressed but the bullet was just touching the powder. It was a good round to shoot.

I didn't pull out the calipers but, a cursory look leads me to think it is comressed.

7.5 grains will allow powder to fall out of the occassional empty primer pocket but none will come out of one loaded with 7.7 which reinforces my thoughts that it is compressed.

The good point with the BD is that there is NO WAY you can double charge a case. It is easy to see if you have a low throw as well because of how high the powder is in the case. There is no need for a powder cop with BD in the 9mm.

Right from alliants site. But that load sounds hot to me. I have up 8.5 in 45 acp it was hot sounded like a cannon. I load 4.2 grain of red dot in the 45.

Blue Dot is a pretty slow powder for that light of a bullet. Although I am sure it will work, you will get a LOT of muzzle flash and a loud report. I would recommend a faster powder like 231, Universal, or Unique.
