I just bought a Savage bolt action .22. I added a Tasco Pronghorn 4X scope. My problem is that at 20 yards I am getting about a 1' shot spread. As the day goes on accuracy gets better, until I have about a 50/50 chance of hitting a golf ball.
I can't image that the rifle could be that inaccurate. I've tried 4 different brands of ammo and have not found a significant difference. So, I'm wondering if something is wrong with either the scope or the way I mounted the scope. Can anyone give me any suggestions? TIA |

There is a very good chance it is the scope.Does the rifle have iron sights? try them you should be able to shoot tighter groups than that with irons.I hate to say it again but I have seen so many failures with the cheep Tascos that I will never buy one again. They are junk as far as I am concerened.
