Any help would be appreciated
Hello all,
I'm from California and I'm currently in a wait period for one of these: ![]() Smith & Wesson TRR8! On August 2nd, I'll pick her up and she'll be all mine. I've done my fair share of research and drooled over this gun a long time. Finally! I just wanted to see if any owners or previous owners of this fine wheel gun have any "need to know"s for me. Thanks in advance. -FrntLines |

I do not have this revolver but something very close, a model 627pc 8 shot.
It will shoot with or without moonclips Best moonclips I know of are Hearthco. A de-mooner tool is very useful. Production holsters are almost non existent for 5 inch n frames. You can have a good custom holster made for less than $100. If your front sight is interchangeable, there are some good options available at reasonable cost. I use xss big dot front night sight. |

First thing I'd do is look for a pair of walnut or rosewood grips. Can't abide those rubber handgrips.

Own an R8, buy one, own one, it's an $1000+ gun, cost? I paid for NEW $1400 GUN FOR $1100 TAKE HOME.
Recoil is not so bad for a huge light weight gun. |

If you prefer speed loaders to moonclips, you can get them from both Maxfire and Five Star to fit your revolver. Between the two, I'd prefer the Five Stars myself as the Maxfires, in my experience don't retain the cartridge particularly well.
