Sig Sauer SP2340 .40S&W? Quality?
I have a Smith & Wesson Shield 40 that I put upfor trade because I prefer the 9mm Shield and one of the Pistols I have been offered is a Sig Sauer SP2340 with 3 12 round magazines. I got my Shield for $419. and I see the 2022's run for about $10.00 more. Question is who has experience with this Sig and is it a good reliable performer? Any help is appreciated.

The SIG is a good and reliable performer.
THAT SAID... IMHO this is not an equitable trade! Ignore the MSRP! Gently used Shields are selling OVER retail price on the used market because of the waiting lists at dealers. The SIG Pro pistols- while reliable, reasonably accurate, and perfectly serviceable- are arguably the most utilitarian and least sought-after pistols in SIG's lineup. I'm NOT saying it's a bad pistol; it's just that it's your Average Basic Black Pistol. At the risk of using an obscure automotive analogy, you are talking about trading a red Mini Cooper S with a spoiler and racing stripes for a beige Chevy Malibu with a matching beige interior. If you compare the MSRP, they seem comparable, and both will get you to work equally well; however, the resale value is NOT comparable, and the person who talked you into agreeing to the trade is going to be laughing at you once you're gone.
