S2 Institute...
In central FL, I'd check the S2 Institute in Clearwater.
www.S2Institute.com They offer basic & advanced handgun skill training. I'd also look over the SIG Sauer Academy classes in Orlando FL. I think they run classes through the Orlando PD(which issues the SIG P226/P229 models). Check www.sig-sauer.com . There's also a high speed training center in FT Myers that has free Simunition training(for qualified students) & a retired US Secret Service agent who does EP(bodyguard) & firearm training in south FL. If I can dig up the details/websites, I'll PM you directly or post it. CF |

Great thread Gator.
Firearms retention is as important IMO as marksmanship, and tactics. A gun will do you no good if you cant maintain control of it. During my career I have been shown a few different technique. I strongly suggest that everyone review several, and pick ONE!!! for holstered firearm, and ONE!!! for drawn firearm that works for them. And stick with that one. Practice it, and plan with it. I dont think you need to spend a bunch of money to learn basic technique. Maybe talk to some police friends, or security people... It's usually fairly easy stuff. |

Lasorsa.com
www.Lasorsa.com is the retired federal LEO/security tactics expert.
SPAZ llc is the FT Myers FL firm. The main website is N/A for now but I'll keep on it. CF |

The Massad Ayoob Group (http://massadayoobgroup.com) is based out of Florida these days. MAG-80 offers a very thorough introduction to the skillset.
