Recomendations On Officer Frame 1911s

I ran across an RIA officer frame 1911 at a gun show earlier this month. Ever since that happened I have been haunted by a desire for one of these smaller framed beautys.

Can anybody recomend another 1911 in the officer frame size for less than $500. I honestly never knew these small(er) 1911s existed untill this month.

I had seen the EMP and some Para Ordance small frames. I just thought those were more a novelty thing. Now that I know that it isn't some novelty trick I'm nearly obsessed.

I've even got a few cosmetic changes in mind that I am excited about. It'll be a long term project, but I can't afford a large initial outlay of cash.

Any help is appreciated.

The only Officer's size 1911s that you are going to find for under $500 are those made by Armscor i.e. RIA, Citadel, High Standard etc.

I can highly recommend the RIA Officer's CS model!

Mine was $450. OTD, shoots like a dream, very nice trigger, and I've had no failures of any sort in 500 rds. fired, now.

My custom 1911's stay safe, and pretty, in the safe.

I also own an RIA CS. I had a few bobbles the first time out but since then--I'm at about 500 rounds fired--everything's copasetic. It's a great pistol for the money (I paid $439 plus DROS and tax). The all-steel construction dampens recoil.

I dont think there is going to be anything else in your price range. The RIA's are a decent gun for the money. The EMP's however are extremely good guns but carry a much heftier price tag as you know.
