+1 S&W service experience

Just wanted report one more data point for you all.

My new 642 had a misaligned barrel. I called S&W about repairs. They answered the phone without putting me on hold and emailed me a FedEx label. I called FedEx, and they showed up at my door in 45 minutes. The gun was back at my door in four business days.

I still have to test whether the gun shoots straight now, but the shipping/return process was surprisingly painless and quick. (Will report back if the repairs were inadequate.)

Sounds like their service is great but their quality control isn't. How could this have gotten out of the factory?
