Thanks for the warning! Pity the poor guy on a bad dial up connection who tries to download it before he realizes how big it is. It'd be 5 minutes before he could even cancel it!

Very Cool. Well worth the download. It's neat to see that Eugene Stoner's vision is pretty much unchanged almost 50 years later.

Outstanding video offering.
Thanks for posting that.
I was amused that the Fairchild promotional film led off with images of the C-123 and C-119 aircraft. Anyone who has spent hour upon hour riding in the bellies of these beasts might wonder how good a reference this was. Oven-hot in the summer, frigid in the winter, and intense vibration ANYTIME the engines were running. Oh, they were both pretty efficient cargo movers, but as passenger transports, there were somewhat lacking. I had the opportunity to put a few hundred rounds through an AR10 several years ago. I am NOT normally recoil sensitive - - I enjoy shooting most all .30" and 7.62 mm, including .300 Win Mag. I had no problems firing dozens of .338 WinMag rounds per day while working up handloads. But firing an AR10 for accuracy, the recoil is just plain BRUTAL. And, on full-auto, I could only get two, occasionally three, hits on a silhouette target at ten yards. Those demo shooters in the film must have had muscles of iron and nerves of steel! Very impressive. Best, Johnny |

Hello all,
while browsing through my logs, I happened to see some downloads attempts originating from here (the machine the AR10 video is stored on just lies beneath my desk). Well, some time ago, I had to slightly alter the path leading to the files, hence the 404 reply. The correct URL now is : http://icefloe.homeip.net/~joel/guns...deo350kbps.wmv (37 MB) Two other interesting ones : http://icefloe.homeip.net/~joel/guns...als250kbps.asf (34 MB) http://icefloe.homeip.net/~joel/guns...ion250kbps.asf (36 MB) Last edited by NBBNCN; February 27, 2005 at 02:25 PM. |
