Kydex vs. Leather - Scratches?
Do Kydex holsters scratch or scuff a pistol more than a leather holster?

In my experience no. Kxdex holsters do not put more wear of the gun finish then leather. All form fitted holsters that see repeated use will eventually show on the finish of the weapon. Weapons that are “show pieces” and not intended for actual use should be kept in a case or a padded box and not a holster. Those who intend to be proficient with their handguns will engage in regular practice at the range and over time such will become evident on the finish.
Perfect condition and perfectly maintained is the difference.

I have used and use both leather and kydex holsters. Both will wear the finish eventually although I think the kydex has worn the finish faster. I carry a hard chromed Combat Commander that has a "brushed stainless" finish that has worn bright where it meets the holster. If you are going to use a IWB holster I would go with the kydex as it wont sweat through. Thats why my Commander was hard chromed in the first place, better a little wear than rust.
