My remarriage 9 years back put me in a two-home deal--my home in Terlingua, TX, and my wife's in S.Jawgia. I am regularly out in Terlingua "baching it" during late-March and April, and again in October-November.

I can take one or two guys lion hunting during those times. No fee, no guarantee. It might be camping way back in the boonies, or maybe working out of my house, depending on where's the kitty. It would be a bait-and-watch or varmint-call type of deal.

Now, I'm gonna be off the Net for about a week. No rush on response. I'll log in when I get re-settled...Anyone interested would need travel-time to southwest Texas, and at least three or four days for the hunt.

No more than two guys (ladies ain't excluded) at a time; I'd be happy to do two or three such hunts, Spring & Fall...

We can work out the grimy details later.

Good hunting!

I'll put myself in that line.

I beleive cats are in the "varmint/small game" category and can be hunted by non-residents in Texas with a $35 license which is good for 4 or 5 days.

If it is big game, the license is $250 and I might pass.....

Thanks, Art.

If you'll take a novice, I'm in. I'll even ferry Rob out there.
Good luck on your upcoming road run...stay in touch with us from the road.

Thanks for the offer, Rich, how about you fly to Nashville and we drive down?
I prefer to travel with as much gear as Roper in Enter the Dragon.

Rob-
I've got plenty of cargo space available on my little Baron and can alot you about 300 lbs of gear. I know this put's a damper on taking the Howitzer, but concessions must be made.

Hu-Hah.
For that one, I'll put it down on the hog's back!!!
Let me not get too far ahead of myself. We'll see what Art decides when he gets back from his jaunt. I'm certain he's got lots of takers to his offer.

I'm baaaacckk! Hey, Rich & Rob!

Not quite caught up to reality; my soul is still at a rest-stop somewhere around Biloxi, I think...So now I'm [email protected]

A good "window" looks like March 26th through April. My calendar doesn't indicate when the full moon is, but that's the best time for calling. They hunt more during daylight, then. (Easter ain't a factor for me.)

I can't get a game warden down in my country for mule deer season, much less varmints...

Terlingua airstrip, about four miles from my house, is a very smooth, 3,000 foot, caliche strip. Lajitas, a few miles west, has a paved strip (no lights) some 4,400 feet long.

Whatever rifle is the most "married" to you is probably best; .243 is plenty big, and .308 shoots flat enough...Otherwise, bring whatever toys turn you on.

Terlingua is some 650 miles SW of Dallas, at the west edge of Big Bend National Park. By March, we get an occasional low below 40 degrees, but rarely a high above 85 or so. Night-hunting hours are cool-to-chilly. It's usually dry, but no absolute guarantees.

Query as you see fit. Nuff fer now, Art

Art-
If that means we're a go, I'm in. Don't know about Terlingua, as I can't find it in the AOPA directory, but that's minor details.

I'd love to Christen the Steyr Scout out there. Let us know.

Rich, Rob: Don' got your Email addresses. Post same to me per my previous message?

Terlingua is some 40 minutes C-172-time south of Alpine, Texas. Lajitas strip, Terlingua strip, Terlingua Ranch strips are shown on Sectional--El Paso, I believe.
