M1 carbine bayonet lug

Does anyone here know if there are any weapon lights that would fit on the bayonet lug of an M1 carbine?
Thanks in advance.

I don't know of any, but I can probably explain why there isn't one.

Puttling a bayonet on a rifle changes the zero, sometimes dramaticly.

Putting a flash light on the bayonet lug would do the same thing.

Try it. zero your carbine. Shoot it at 100 yards and then put a bayonet on it and shoot it again. It isn't gonna hit the same place.

A light on the bayonet lug would do the same thing.

When people mounted lights and such on Carbines they mounted them on top.

Designed for the AR, but should be close enough for the M1 carbine?

The bayonet lug on the M1 Carbine is quite a bit smaller then the lug on the M16/M4. I really doubt that would work.

Maybe a Ultimak with an offset light mount?

Like the V-Tac mounted across the top?

Come to think of it, I'd like to have one too.

I wouldn't be all that concerned about throwing off accuracy within the typical distances of a light- it ought to still be minute of critter or bad dude. If it's too dark and too far to identify with a light- maybe it hadn't ought to be shot at.
