'Don't know if this is a temporary fascination or what, but I've been wondering about reloading .410 slugs. There is a thread in Reloading & Handloading forum where I asked this question. Then I remembered the Shotgun forum. Does any one reload the .410 for slugs? For that matter, is reloading any ga for slugs something reloaders do?
In case you haven't guessed, I know nothing about shotshell reloading. All I've ever done is metallic. ------------------ TFL End of Summer Meet, August 12th and 13th, 2000 |

I cast and reload my own 12 ga. slugs but have never tried the .410. I own and shoot more than a few .410's and I reload for them but have never tried slugs. They are available and I am sure I will try them some day.

There was an article in one of the "gun digests" that talked about loading the 410 for defense. He used factory slug loads but reloaded buckshot in the 410 very sucessfully. I remember he was able to load 5 pieces of '0' buck in the little case and get close to the same penetration as the factory 12 gauge '0' buck load.
