Longname:
When you say caliber I would normally consider a rimfire ctg and I dont't know of anyone that makes a .17 cal rimfire. They may be made, however, I don't have the knowledge. However, .177 cal is presented in air rifles. Plinkders and Olympic type rifles. Somewhere it seems I have read something about a 17 cal cap? caliber. Remington still lists their BDL 700 in .17 Remington. This is a centerfire 17 caliber cartridge based off of the 222 Remington case.

The .17REM C.F. is .172" and the air rifle is .177", pity we cant use the former projectile in the latter and see what gives !
