Small gun safe.
Hi all. I have been meaning to buy a gun safe for several years and finally have the capitol I need. I'm looking for a safe to hold roughly 8-10 long guns and a number of handguns. Fire rating is not yet my goal so much as I don't want anything stolen while I'm away. Any suggestions? Any names to avoid?

I have 3 Liberty's and a Browning and I like both brands. Get the largest one you can afford as they will fill up faster than you think.

Small gun safe.
As others have mentioned if your wanting to keep 10-24 guns on it , get one that is for 36-48. They fill up fast and usually more than guns end up in them too.

I was in the same situation was had benn using a glass front cabinet and my closet for about 20 years. Iwas in a Tractor Supply store and saw a Winchester 12 gun safe on sale. It's perfact and I can cram several more in and the shelf holds my handguns plus other valuables. Heavy duty steel, welded, comination and vault type wheel, three 3/4 inch lugs.Fabric lined also, which keeps the safe rash (nicks and dings 0 down.It weighs in at around 200lbs I think, so get your son in law to man handle it...I did!
