Rem 870 Express 12 Gauge for $196

Seems like a good price for one of these. I want it mainly for home defense and have always been impressed with the quality and strength. I already have a Moss 500A setup for home D.

Any persuasive thoughts regarding one over the other?

Second question: Do all Rem 870 versions have interchangeable barrels?

The Remington 870 is the top selling pump gun in history.
Something like 95% of all American Law Enforcement use the 870 Police model.

The Express uses the same forged and milled steel receiver and heavy-duty internal parts that the premium Wingmaster and Police models use.

Most people who own 870's will tell you that they are as good as it gets.

The Mossberg is not junk, and will serve quite well, but it's not as tough, durable, and trouble free as an 870.

With a few exceptions on special guns, all 870 barrels interchange.

While I must disagree on one point (my mossberg has been more reliable than my buddies rem. 870 as well as having IMHO ergonomics) but it is a fantastic gun. And absoluteley worth buying.

The super magnum barrells are not interchangable, but mine has screw in chokes so my options aren't limited.
