I know they were made for a four month period in 1982. I know that approximately 1500 were made.

From the 4th edition of the Bluebook Of Modern Blackpowder Arms by Adler and Allen.
1860 ARMY STAINLESS STEEL - .44 cal. perc., 8 in. round barrel, creeping loading lever, six-shot cylinder roll engraved with naval battle scene, brushed stainless steel barrel, cylinder, frame, loading lever, plunger, hammer, backstrap, and trigger guard, one-piece walnut stocks, 42 oz. 1,596 mfg. 1982 only. Grading 100% 98% 90% 80% $850 $650 $400 $325 Last MSR was $485 Don't know that these prices are right or wrong but that's what's there. |

friend has one. He traded a stainless Colt Navy for it and later found out the Navy is a lot rarer. The army is a good shooter though
