Another Deer Liver Question or Deer Anatomy Question

I usually take the heart and liver if neither was damaged by the shot. But I seem to notice some systemic differences in the liver. There's one big piece that consist of several lobes then there is a seperate piece that consist of one lobe....and that one usually has a softer texture, it's not as firm as the bigger one, the color seems to be the same though.....anyone else notice this? On the two doe's I've taken so far this year it was the same....and I remeber from last year the same thing.

Not that I have noticed noticed, but If if does not look good just cut it out out. Don't forget the gland attaced. Recove it carefully. I am a regular lever eater of deer.

is liver is liver. It's all good. Just make SURE you carefully cut off the little green sac (it is the gall bladder) and don't let that sac's contents touch anything you plan to eat.
