SIG M400

What would you be willing to pay for a SIG M400 FDE? I am wondering what they are worth in this depleted market?

WOuld you pay $1800 for one?

The M400 is a "regular" AR-15. I don't know how well they stack up against Colt, Bravo Company, etc., but I'd anticipate the things being decent rifles.

$1800 for them is $800 too much unless you MUST have one now in the midst of the panic. IMO, better to wait for people to calm down and then get one.

The M400 has been subjected to rigorous field testing by many law enforcement agencies and the military. California Highway Patrol just contracted with SIG on the M400 after testing the COLT and HK. M400 performed above and beyond expectations and the price was less than the other two.

Thousands of rounds without cleaning, mudd test, ice test, drop test, impact testing, sand test, all passed with flying colors.

SIG is able to keep high production numbers.

Nearly every law enforcement officer in the large metropolitan area I work is buying the SIG. The LEO price for the M400 FDE is $906. The 516 is $1200. The 716 is $1600.

The SIG rep explained that for 2013 the pricing on the SIGs remains relatively low, but will increase by a few hundred in 2014. So the price of these rifles will go up.

Minimum 120 day wait on SIG factory direct purchases for LEO's, so the civilian market will be a while! SIG is focusing on production for law enforcment and Military.

Now just try getting a COLT 6940 or 6920,,,,It aint gunna happen. The hype is all real and you will not see a break in this storm until 2014.

A buddy bought that exact gun the day after the shooting and paid $950 plus tax. The FDE is Cerakote and the gun looks very nice. The guys on ARFCOM seem to think very highly of it. I plan on getting a 516 or 716 when the prices come back down to reality. Another friend has a 516 and its very nice and shoots great!

Heck you will pay anywhere from $600 top $1100 just for a decent complete upper reciever. $900 for a good Adams, Reinier, Spikes, and more for a DD.

Id rather buy the whole gun complete and ready to rock for $900!!!

The prices are not coming down on the SIG's. Factory rep says they are goin up in 2014.

Many people are more than happ to pay $1400 for a SIG! But you will be hard pressed to find them!

I'm kicking myself right now. I had been shopping for an AR for a few months, and was out of town when Sandy Hook happened. As soon as I got home, I went to Walmart and picked up the M400 with the Prism scope for $897. I had checked 4 other WM's around me, and this one was the only one with any stock left. The guy at the counter said he had one left, did I want it. I said, Nah, I'm good. I could have doubled my money and effectively gotten one for free.
