best 9mm powder for consistency

I've been using Winchester 231. I would rate the consistency from my RCBS powder measure as just OK. I have been reloading about 6 month and have about 2000 rounds under my belt. I understand the importance of consistent pulls. I was wondering if different powders had bad or better yet great consistency. Any recommendations?

Titegroup meters extremly well for me, and burns clean to boot

Titegroup works well for me also. I'm loading 9mm and .38 spl. I'm using a Lee powder measure. I've been loading about 6 months also and Titegroup was all the powder I could get at the time. Good luck and stay safe.

I have had very good luck with W 231 for jacketed bullets. Bullseye for leads.

For those using titegroup, are you using it with lead bullets on 9mm? Either way, what is your favorite recipe.

I tried with 9mm, 115 LRN,s and did not have good accuracy results. I'l like to hear about you're results.

I have had exceptional results with Power Pistol across all wieghts on my 9mm. I load 115 JHP, 115 LRN, and tons of 125 LRN's with Power Pistol with very good results

+1 on Power Pistol. Kind of barks when you shoot, but measures well for me, and works great with my 124gr. plated bullets.

azklmsr, I use 115grn missouri lrn, with federal primers with 4.1 and 4.2grn of titegroup with excellent grouping results out of my SWV9E. I have only used that recipe in that pistol so far, so I cant say anything about the accuracy in my other 9mm's as of yet.

Vihtavuori 3N37 has made my Beretta Storm a one ragged hole gun at 100 yds. No other popular powder has been able to give me as tight of groups (I have tried them ALL). I also have excellent results with it in my hand guns.

I am using berrys 115 grain with 4.4 grains of tg. Also hornyday xtp 124 grainers with 4.0 of tg

I found my Beretta 92FS has really over size groove dimension, so I've been using .359" bullets, which load and chamber just fine in the also over size chamber. I find the lighter the powder charge I use, the better it shoots. I'm using less than 4 grains of 231 right now.

I have a Walther P-38 with the same problems, which also likes these light loads.

im using accurate number 5, 5.5 grains, with a wolf magnum small rifle primer, and a cast bullet coming in at between 120 and 122 grains. the hotter primer seams to burn more of the powder in my carbine, one hole groups and shot out bull's eyes at 50 feet. flows well in my auto disk

I have reloaded more 9mm than anything else over the past 40+ years and have tried a bunch of different powders. The tightest velocity spreads, with the lowest standard deviations I've seen, have been with the Accurate Arms powders. I have used AA-2, 5, 7 and 9 in the 9mm. AA powders seem to be at their best and most consistent at, or very near the top, of the recommended charges. The stuff flows "like water" through my Dillon powder measure which makes for very consistent powder charges and velocities. Also, at least AA-7 and AA-9, AA powders exhibit relatively low flash in reduced light, a characteristic that I like. AA-2 and AA-5 may be low flash too, but I don't recall if I tested them in reduced light or not. ymmv

This is the same powder I'd recommend. With your brief tenure and claimed results, I must question the quality of prepping the powder measure for use. What have you done to prep it?

Prepping the powder? Well, I pour it into the uniflow powder measure. Is there something else I should be doing? Advice always welcome.

Bullseye works very well for me (and I load it very hot.) WSF is probably even better but I haven't tried that one yet in 9mm.

Red Dot gives the tightest spreads and the best accuracy if your powder measure can handle it (same size flakes as Unique, but lighter and fluffier.) It definitely does *not* give the highest velocity, although in 9mm it's not bad.
