Browing Buck Mark or Smith Wesson M&P22

I'm thinking of buying a Browning Buck Mark or a Smith Wesson M&P22. Do any of you have any thoughts on this? Thank you for your help. Shoot safe my friends.

What is the intended purpose? Target shooting? Plinking? The Buck Mark will have better accuracy, as it is a target pistol. The M&P will be a fun plinker, but wont be as accurate as the Buck Mark. You can certainly plink with the Buck Mark.

Do you want to simulate tactical situations, and have a matching centerfire M&P pistol? The M&P 22 will do that, while firing a much lower cost ammo.

If you just want a good, all around 22 pistol, the Buck Mark is the winner, when compared to the M&P 22

Completely different pistols with completely different goals in their design.

The Buckman is a target pistol, and likely much more accurate.

The m&p22 is designed to imitate their centerfire line in feel.

So do you want a pistol that looks and feels like a service type pistol, or one designed for target shooting.

I have a sr22, similar in thought to the m&p22, and a mkiii, similar to a buckmark.

We really like both, but shoot the mkiii much more often.

I like the m&p22 better than the sr22 though in feel, so it might get used more if I had one.

I may have owned fifty handguns in my lifetime. My Buck Mark is EASILY the most accurate. Today I was shooting with my friend who is a novice shooter. Most of his shots were somewhat scattered... with my other guns. His best groups with the Buck Mark could be covered by my thumb.

Like others said, two very different guns with different applications. If it was up to me, I'd go with the Buckmark.

Browning Buck Mark is an entry level target pistol like the Ruger Mk II.
The Smith Wesson M&P22 is a Walther made M&P .22. Not really a target pistol though.
Toss a coin and buy the one that fits your hand best. Then you'll have to try a box of as many brands of ammo as you can to find the ammo that both shoots best and cycles the action.

Punching holes in paper is boring any more, I use my S&W Compat compact for active targets, cans etc. and truly enjoy the pistol. Although not as accurate as I suppose the Buckmark to be my Compacts will shoot anything I have fed it without incident . The grip allows the user and weapon to become one. The smaller pistol points easily and is sufficiently accurate to routinely chase a soda can at fifty yards. Plus it is "almost" a cool combat pistol.

I have a Browning Challenger III, which was essentially a prototype of the Buck Mark. It is a beautiful pistol and shoots very well. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed after buying a Buck Mark.

m&p22 is made by Umarex an airsoft company that owns walther. It isn't compatible with anything the real m&ps have including backstraps or function.

I have the S&W Model 41, the S&W M22A, the BuckMark Camper and the Ruger Mark iii Target.

Shoot targets, the S&W Moodel 41.

Most used, good for everything, Ruger Mark iii Target.

Good accurate plinker, BuckMark Camper.

Least favorite, S&W M22A.

If all goes well, tomorrow I'll pick up a new Ruger Mark iii Hunter Target Laminate, or m/b the Mark iii Competition. And sell, the buckMark and the S&W M22A.

Recently got a buck mark for my son to use in the scholastic pistol program. Good little plinker, but a nightmare to detail strip!

???

Sounds interesting. Could you provide some details? Your choice either here or in the 'General' section if you think it would be hijacking this thread.

I own both of these guns and they are both great guns. If I only could get one I would get the M&P22. The M&P22 is a replica of a full size gun that replicates all functions about as realistically as you could want. Great training tool if you own a centerfire M&P or similar striker fired gun.

The Buckmark's we have had have all been good guns, but they are just plinkers or Steel Challenge guns. We dress them up with TacSol parts, optics and shoot Steel Challenge or Ruger Rimfire matches with them.

Neither gun has stood out as more reliable, accurate, serviceable, comfortable or ammo sensitive than than other.
