The .45 long colt and round ball
I was toying with the idea of loading some .45 long colt with round ball since I already cast them. Has any one tried this? The round ball I cast are .457 and 143gr they seem like they would be a little light but might work. I would prefer to use unique since I have alot of it and it works well In my revolver. Thanks for any and all feedback.

My old Speer Manual shows a .454" round ball weighing 141 Gr.
The pre-war dia. ran .454", but the later guns are .451"-452". The Manual calls for: 45 Colt Red Dot 3.2Gr for568 FPS Bullseye 3.2 Gr. for 553 FPS Win 231 4.0 Gr. for 544 FPS Unique 4.5 Gr. for 632 FP 700X 4.0 Gr. for566 FPS SR7625 4.5 Gr. for 556 FPS SR4756 5.0 for 565 FPS HS5 5.7 Gr. for 580 FPS |
