Letter on the constitutionality of gun control
From David Kopel, noted legal authority. This is his letter to the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on gun violence. He published it publicly today, and I haven't seen other posts today, so this is likely not a duplicate. Read an enjoy - it's good stuff.

I'm happy to see this was sent to Senator Cruz.
A good read and some interesting footnotes and references. The article Ronald Reagan's AR15 was a nice trip through good times.

Very well done, as I'd expect. His argument against universal background checks is most illuminating. While that's not one we can easily win in the court of public opinion (because it's dominated by 5-second soundbites), he does a good job of pointing out the constitutional barriers to it.

Yeah everyone looks over the fact that when Reagan was for banning assault weapons, he meant assault rifles with select fire capabilities.
