The bronze brush should be OK for stainless steel barrels. That being said, I use nylon brushes mainly because I can also use them for brushing out the case necks before reloading and after cleaning in a case vibrator.

On centerfire barrels, you can use bronze brushes, but be sure they're clean. It's the primer grit that wears barrels more than the brushes. I use brake cleaner on mine after each use.

Brush only from breech to muzzle. Never pull a brush back through. That saves the critical crown from wear.

On 22LR rimfire benchrest stainless barrels, some manufacturers recommend against metal brushes; however, all 22LRs only have wax-coated bullets, even the "copper-clad" are coated with hard wax.
