Is there a posted list of serial number ranges/years of production for old S&W's?

The one in question is a Military & Police (in .38 special), with 6.5" barrel, and target sights. I read a notation in one book that mentioned this model with target sights is also called a Hand Ejector model (true/false???)

From what I have been able to find, it was made between 1902 and 1915, but Id like to narrow it down a bit.

Any help would be appreciated

You can contact Smith and Wesson for a brief history by email. The address is:
Historian
Roy Jenks
2100 Roosevelt Ave.
Springfield, MA 01104

Include as much information as possible, including serial number, model number, caliber, etc.

For a more detailed report and letter of authenticity, send $20 per gun to the same address. Make the check payable to SMith and Wesson. Hope this helps.
