I am looking for suggestions on powder brands and load amounts for 150 gr bullets. Right now I have Nosler ballistic tip but may use other types.

Not that many loads for 150 grain cast lead bullets. Most of the good cast bullets start at 173 grain and go up to 210 grain.

Don't get into casting if you can avoid it. Casting takes a heck of a lot of time, a lot of experimentation, and the results are not that good.

Casting for is highly experienced people who want a challenge.

And who have too much time on their hands.

Try these:
1) WW brass, CCI 200, 54.0 of WW760, 150 grain Speer Magtip, slight crimp in groove
2)LC67 brass, match prepped, RP 9 1/2, 48.0 of WW748, Sierra 150 Prohunter FB OAL 3.250"
3)LC67 brass as above, CCI 200, 50.0 of IMR 4320, Sierra 150 Prohunter, 3.250" OAL
4)LC67 brass as above, CCI 200, 48.0 of BLC2, 150 Nosler BT, 3.250" OAL
5) WW brass, CCI 200, 50.0 of IMR 4064, RP 150 Corelokt, slight crimp in groove
6) WW brass, CCI 250, 54.0 of H380, 150 RP corelokt, slight crimp in groove

Trim your brass to 2.485", FL size; I use RCBS dies. Work up from 2 full grains lower. CB.

My first post may have been misleading. I am not going to be casting my own bullets any time soon. Just wanted load info for factory bullets of 150 gr. Any other info is also welcomed.

My favorite 30-06 load

IMR 4831 powder
57 Grains
147 FMJ or 150 Barnes TSX
Win Case
Win Lr. Primers

1 MOA or better at 200-300 yards.

Book Clocks them @ 2757+ FPS!

For the 30-06 in Nosler's 6th edition your are able to go from 55.0-59 max!

I sometimes load this 57 grains for the 180 TSX's as this is also a safe book load. My case/gun likes 57 grains irreguardless of the weight of the bullet.
