I am looking for suggestions on powder brands and load amounts for 150 gr bullets. Right now I have Nosler ballistic tip but may use other types.

Don't get into casting if you can avoid it. Casting takes a heck of a lot of time, a lot of experimentation, and the results are not that good. Casting for is highly experienced people who want a challenge. And who have too much time on their hands. |

My first post may have been misleading. I am not going to be casting my own bullets any time soon. Just wanted load info for factory bullets of 150 gr. Any other info is also welcomed.

My favorite 30-06 load
IMR 4831 powder
57 Grains 147 FMJ or 150 Barnes TSX Win Case Win Lr. Primers 1 MOA or better at 200-300 yards. Book Clocks them @ 2757+ FPS! For the 30-06 in Nosler's 6th edition your are able to go from 55.0-59 max! I sometimes load this 57 grains for the 180 TSX's as this is also a safe book load. My case/gun likes 57 grains irreguardless of the weight of the bullet. |
