My 32 win SP mold arrived!

Oh yes! It's O'dark-thirty in the morning, and my mold finally arrived UPS this afternoon while at work. So what was I doing instead of sleeping? Casting, of course! I HAD to make sure the mold worked right, and the casts sized right... And then I had to reset my dies for the new cast bullet so they would seat and crimp right... RIGHT???

Wow, I'm glad I don't work tomorrow... LOL

What do you do to initially prep your mold before first use?

Not much, really. I work em over with Hopps and a cotton ball to clean them good, then either smoke them with a little candle carbon and rub them down again with a cotton ball or just use graphite the same way. As long as they're on-center and not out of round, they always drop clean and produce purdy bullets right out of the gate for me without much fuss.

I use a tooth brush, dawn soap, and hot water. Scrub them extremely thoroughly. Rinse with hot water and repeat. Some guys boil them to clean them...some guys use brake cleaner...some guys use rubbing alcohol, etc.
