Anyone build .308 blanks?
Does anyone build blanks? I've heard rumors of blank crimp dies, but never seen one. I wanted to goof around with some rifle grenades, and some reputable sources told me that it took special higher powered blanks...

The brass for blanks is special, extending forward to where the bullet usually is to receive that crimp. Grenade launcher blank brass is yet another item. I believe it is extra thick in the casehead, but haven't actually handled any to know for sure? I do see blank and rifle grenade brass listed separately in the military manuals. You'd probably have to get it surplus as there is no general commercial market for rifle grenades AFAIK.

Thanks. I have some blanks, and picked up a "Practice grenade" that I wanted to try out just for kicks. Guess I'll have to try it with regular blanks and see what happens.

Believe me, it's something coming out of the end. Fun, actually, like goofing around with a potato gun.
