My advice would be to look for PUBLISHED loads. Not to sound like a jerk, but shotshell reloading is NOT like metallic reloading. You follow shotshell recipes word for word. Working up loads in shotshell is flat out foolish...especially if you are new to it. You must find a published load with the components you have. Remmeber that not all hulls/brass, wads, primers, etc are not the same in shotshell reloading. It is a completely different world than metallic. Even substituting ONE component can affect pressure drastically. Good luck, and as they say in England....cheers?!

You might try emailing this outfit -
http://www.hoeningbigboresouth.com/H...Slug_Ammo.html These folks have definitely pushed the envelope as far as what you can do with a .410. However, I don't think what they are making is compatible with a Saiga. They are selling special barrels for it. However, the owners may have some .410 reloading experience they would be willing to share, involving brass cartridge reloading and slugs.

Cream of Wheat is a hot breakfast cereal or porridge invented in 1893 by wheat millers in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Since the trade name may not be recognized in the UK, do you have polenta available in your area?
I've been loading .410s for 35+ years; but, no brass and only with #9 shot. Something to keep in mind when loading the little hulls: With a tight fitting shot cup you may be compressing the air above the powder and it may require a second stroke to seat the wad. It's a bit of bother when the air pressure backs out the wad and spills some shot. |
