What Shotgun is this G4S Security Officer in Bosnia Holding? - Photo

Here is a G4S Security Officer working in Bosnia. What shotgun is he holding?

He does not appear to be very happy about having his photo taken.

It's a Mossberg.

A 590 or 500 variant with the 590 barrel/magazine system.

Based on the orientation of the safety, trigger group pin and shell elevator hooks it's definitely a Mossberg though.

He's thinking he's so dang skinny that he'd better give the 12 gauge to someone else and get himself a .410.

http://www.g4s.com/

Didn't know they existed previously. From the website:

G4S...

has operations in over 110 countries
was formed in 2004 from the merger between Securicor plc and Group 4 Falck A/S’s security business.
is listed on the London Stock Exchange (stock symbol: GFS) with a secondary listing in Copenhagen.
is the largest employer quoted on the London Stock Exchange, with over 585,000 employees
turnover from continuing operations for the year from January - December 2008 was £5,942.9 million (2007: £4,868.4m). PBITA for the same period was up 23% to £416.4 million (2007: £338.7m)

----------------------------

Website didn't mention that they supply weapons of dubious heritage configured in unsafe ways to their employees though. But... they're British. Whatta they know about weapons?

Yes, G4S Security is one of the biggest corporations in the world when it comes to employees.

They even have a subsidiary here in the USA now too. The US Border Patrol is now using them to transport illegal aliens.

Governments and other institutions all around the world are now using G4S for security matters, rather than go to the expense of hiring their own people.

Could be a scary prospect, I suppose. The company is headquartered in Denmark. Here is a photo of their CEO.

He wears a pink shirt and tie, so I think that we can trust him. No bad guy would ever wear pink.

Good catch. Although he is working in Bosnia, this man indeed is a Pakistani.

G4S hires people from all over the world.

Mossberg or a knockoff thereof for sure, doesnt look terribly reliable, and if I were in charge of protecting something I would never ever use a PG shotgun. Give me a full stock and a 28 inch barrel and Ill get surgical on your A$$ haha.

I agree that it appears to be a knockoff Mossberg. But what I find hilarious is that instead of a sling he has a super cheap shoulder strap from a freebie duffel bag and instead of swivels he prefers coat hanger wire NICE... REAL NICEEEEE...

Keep in mind that even true Mossberg shotguns are not drop safe, and then add this one's questionable heritage and mode of carry..........G4S must not like it's employees very much.....

Show some respect to your betters! That's Gecko45 in his new security posting.

Not a shotgun either, but a helical fed 5.7mm submachinegun made to look like an old mossberg as to not alert the shoppers in the mall of Uzbekistan.

He's a master of disguise isn't he!

I agree with Balazona, the SG is indeed a cheap clone of mossberg made in Darra AdamKhel or Peshawar, available here for 1800-2200 PKR. (1USD=82 PKR i.e. 26.82$).

He & the other private security guards put their life on the line for a mere salary of 70-75$ per month and will be very very lucky if they are able to fire atmost 1 shot from this tool if the need arise Moreover, they are most likely to have #4 birdshot shells in them.

He is most likely to be guarding some private or "not so a high profile" dwelling. The bank guards that I have seen here are generally a just little better equipped than him. Atleast they have some Turkish or well made Pakistani weapon with 00 buckshot in them.

Holeeeeee crap. That's cheap. As much as I'd like to have a $26 shotgun, I shudder to wonder where they cut corners.

You'd think with the money they saved on his gun, they could have gotten the poor guy a uniform that fits right.
