About like a .338 Federal.

At 800 yards on game? Not me, that is about triple my confident hunting range.

A .308 sized case will not have enough powder capacity to shoot the high BC bullets that you want for long-range shooting at a reasonable velocity to make those kind of hits.

The .308 case size has a ballistic sweet spot in terms of BC/velocity in 6.5mm caliber, in the .260 or 6.5CM.
