K6 scope on a 45/70 marlin lever gun?

I'm currently leaning towards a 6x38 Weaver scope for my 1895M. Will it stand up to the recoil or fall off? Any experience w/ big, heavy bores & scopes?

I think a newer Japan made Weaver would hold up fine.

A lifetime guaranteed Leupold straight 4X would be my choice.

I really don't have the budget for a Loopy & not sure I'd get one anyway. Why would a 6x scope be "too much"? There's not that much difference between a 6x & a 4x scope. What am I missing?
