.257 Roberts
I am new to the forum and I want to thank you for any assistance ahead of time! I am trying to reload .257 roberts w/ 117gr from Hornady. I only have two types of powder at my disposal right now (vht-n133 and cfe223) can i reload the 257 with these powders SAFELY? Any suggestions?

I don't know anything about the powders you mentioned. (Can't find it in any of my reloading manuals).
But I do know, just because a powder is "safe" doesn't mean its right for the round you're reload. Not saying its safe, I don't know, just saying there are better powders for the 257 Roberts. I hunt and do a lot of shooting with my 257 Roberts, It really likes (as do most 257 Roberts) medium burning powders. Such as 4895, 4064, 3031, etc etc. I'd stick to powders recommended in reloading manuals but that's just me. The 257 Roberts is an excellent round, you want to keep it that way.

I will start reloading once brass becomes available. I have one box of 20 cases and that is not enough for load development.

rbaum--you would do yourself a big favor by getting your hands on a couple of good hand loading manuals. Finding loads on the internet is always a dicey proposition. If nothing else, get the "Loadbooks USA "257 Roberts" Reloading Manual" This provides data from most manufacturers of powder and bullets, specifically for the 257 Bob.

4350 good Roberts powder
I experimented with a lot of powders over the years in my '81 257 Featherweight. Settled on 4350 for accuracy and velocity. Since switching to Barnes copper bullets, I use only 100-grain in the Roberts. They are long, come out smoking (probably shouldn't tell you I use 50-gr loads), and perform perfectly (100% wt retention) in elk. Never found one in an antelope or mule deer.
