Muzzleloading Sabots
I have searched the world over for these sabots. They are by far the best to use with the 325gr parker bullets with my rifle. I unable to find some more anywhere. Can anyone help?sabots 002.jpg

Were they in labeled packaging when purchased, or were they sold with bullets?
Maybe it's a custom or proprietary sabot that was molded by one of the major sabot manufacturers for a single company. For instance MMP makes custom .52 sabots for Knight rifles which only Knight sells. It's possible that if the folks at MMP or Harvester were asked that they might recognize that sabot as either one of their own or a competitor's. Someone at each of those companies should be available to speak with you on a personal basis, and then the photo can be emailed to them. Here's two major manufacturers and perhaps if you speak with them they can tell you about others to contact if they can't help you: http://www.mmpsabots.com/ http://www.harvesterbullets.com/ Last edited by arcticap; May 10, 2012 at 11:32 AM. |

They're MMP High Pressure sabots. The concentric rings in the base tell it all.

I believe that NoSecondBest is right.
I found a post that describes stepped base sabots as being made by MMP: Quote:
http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/blac...ts-sabots.html It's possible that some of the older MMP sabots were thicker than some of their current production sabots. And according to this chart, some MMP stepped sabots had machine numbers stamped inside of their base cup. http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/2361764-post2.html Last edited by arcticap; May 10, 2012 at 02:06 PM. |

That's too bad that they couldn't help you out with info..
Did they see the photo? Where did you get these sabots from? What kind of packaging, were they sold with bullets? I wonder if they could be the older Knight high pressure sabots. Do they match the dimensions of the Knight high pressure sabots as listed in Post #11? http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/3341617-post11.html Last edited by arcticap; May 10, 2012 at 09:34 PM. |
