Good Gunsmith in Denver Area?
Looking for someone to do some work on a 1911. I've been to Gunsmoke and they seem to know what they're talking about, but I've never heard anything anecdotal. And I've heard of Don Fisher, but no specifics.
Who's really good? |

Rich Wyatt at Gunsomke is your man. All the other guys in thera are hacks. I will be having him do some =additional work for me after the holidays. He did some work for me on my Steyr Scout as well as the Savage 99 I converted to scout configuration. They are knowledgeable, reliable and reasonable.

I've never had work done there, but I've heard nothing but positive reviews of Gunsmoke's work. How positive? Gunsmoke will be my choice in the future.

Hasher,
Did you mean "all the other guys in 'there' are hacks," or "all the other guys in 'the area' are hacks?" Big difference in how I approach the folks at Gunsmoke! Thanks. |

"Everyone else sucks" is pretty strong language.
I'd suggest for 1911 work Milt Morrison of Qualite' Pistol and Revolver, they built my 1991a1 Seecamp-Colt. Can't think of another smith in the area who would even ATTEMPT that. http://www.qpr-inc.com/

Anyone have any experience with Gunworks in Lakewood? They're a Kimber Master Dealer.

rich at gunsmoke is good. i remember him when he first opend up shop. he has had a few "smiths" thorugh there but he himself is consistent.
if you want to travel up to the loveland pat at jensen's in loveland does nice work on the 1911 series of guns. 970-663-5994 he gets a fair amount of work from the metro area as well as around the no co area too. keep in mind that whatever a smith tells you on turnaround time multiply it by 2 (easy) |
