Hobby Gunsmithing: Hard to get a copy

Sam Fadala's book, "Black powder home gunsmithing", is probablly one of the most difficult books I've ever tried to get a copy of. And I just can't see paying upwards to $115 bucks to get a copy...anyone have a spare copy they wanna unload?

Don, you can get a copy from Amazon.com for around $50. Two other books you may be interested in are

"Percussion Pistols And Revolvers: History, Performance and Practical Use"
by Mike Cumpston (Author), Johnny Bates (Contributor)

and

"Gunsmithing - Guns of the Old West"
by David Chicoine (Author)

Hey Madcrate, appreciate the response. Yea, I looked there and they said 2 available copies for $50 (used), which I wouldnt mind a used copy at all, problem was, they were out of those two, and wanted way to much for the new copies they had. I guess I'll just keep searching. I've went to just about every book store in this city, and they can't even get a order for it. I got a copy from the library a few years ago, but now, they can't even seem to locate a copy. Just seems kinda strange to me...Is that book in such high demand??

Don, I found a copy at possibleshop.com. $17.95 I ordered a copy tonight. I guess I will find out tomorrow if it is for real or not. I got an order confirmation, but who knows if they really have it in stock? I'll let you know.

Well, they shipped my order today, sent me an email with tracking number, and even shipped it priority mail. Very impressed. I also ordered An Introduction to Black Powder Revolvers by Phil Spangenberger, which I have seen listed for as much as $70. So there you have it, possibleshop.com has what you are looking for at a price that can't be beat.

I have bought a bunch of items from the Possibles Shop and the service has been top notch. I don't know how big they are but the one time I emailed them with a question, the owner answered it. I try to buy as much as I can from them if I can't find it locally and the prices are very reasonable.

I would have a hard time seeing that book worth $15 let alone $115. Ralph Walker wrote a book on hobby blackpowder gunsmithing that is much better and unknown enough to keep the price reasonable. Depending on what you are looking to do, there are much better books than either of the above on the subject.
